David Gordon creates music, visual art, audiovisual installations and software investigating multisensory perception. He holds a B.A. in Art from Pomona College and is currently pursuing a joint Ph.D in Music Composition and M.S. in Media, Arts, and Technology at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Recent projects include Rarefaction, a multichannel sound piece for the UCSB Allosphere, Kaleidoscope, a networked music piece for the Laptop Orchestra of the University of Iowa (LOUi), and Perceptual Geography, a series of digital installations, where viewers enter a virtual environment made from layered images, videos and sounds of local urban and natural areas using custom software that organizes media based on time, spatial and orientation metadata.
